Congratulations to her new owner Brenda Lane!

Pacific Rose affectionately known as “Rosie” has met and exceeded all of our expectations from a very carefully planned breeding. She has a very typey and dished head, small muzzle, long and elegant neck, to her amazing hip. All wrapped in a dark bay package.

Rosie is going to be fun to show in halter and performance. Later she is sure to be a really spectacular broodmare.

Pedigree

Pedigree Research by Nancy Pierce

Born in 2016, the dark bay PACIFIC ROSE MRF is sired by the champion siring stallion, PA Gazsi (Gazal Al Shaqab x Memphis NA by Fame VF+) and is out of the multi-champion mare, Paloma SF+ (Georgia AF x WA Lida Rose by W A Salute).

PA Gazsi is one of those rare Gazal Al Shaqab sons who didn’t earn fame early on by virtue of an illustrious show career. A tall, dark bay stallion very reminiscent of his sire – with a typey, chiseled face; a lovely arched neck, beautiful tail carriage, and the smoldering presence of Gazal Al Shaqab – PA Gazsi was born with a malformed right ear, and because of that, was not shown as a young horse. He certainly had the quality necessary for the show ring and long legs, presumably from the Fame VF+/Bey Shah side of his family, but his owners were reluctant to send him into the ring. Gazsi has since been shown a couple of times, most recently at the 2018 Arabian National Breeder Finals in Scottsdale where he was unanimous Senior Champion Stallion.

Despite this lack of a show record early on, PA Gazsi quickly proved himself as a sire worthy of the Gazal / Fame VF+ heritage. One of his first foals, the filly Ghazalat Al Khalediah, brought a hefty price from HRH Prince Khaled Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz and went on to become Silver World Champion Yearling Filly in Paris in 2011. To prove that was not fluke, PA Gazsi has proceeded to sire many more champion offspring all over the world, including 2017 Brazilian National Champion Filly, Sophie ELS; halter and multi-discipline performance champion, PA Elcarim; multi-regional champion (halter and performance) and Sport Horse National Reserve Champion 2 Yr Old Fillies In-Hand, PA Gizella; 4 time Sport Horse National Top Ten Gelding In-Hand, multi-regional championships with reserves in both main ring and sport horse in-hand, Gasazi; Region 15 Champion Yearling Sport Horse In-Hand and ABS Sport Horse National Champion Yearling Sport Horse In-Hand, PA Botond; and 4 -time regional champion performance, 2-time national champion reining horse with 8 other U.S. and Canadian National titles in a variety of performance disciplines, Adessa SS.

PA Gazsi’s record as a sire is nothing short of remarkable considering he has only sired 70 foals to date and considering quite of few of his foals have sold overseas as youngsters.

One might reasonably expect PA Gazsi to produce as he has. His sire, Gazal Al Shaqab, is one of the most successful show horses and sires of this era, and PA Gazsi is paternal brother to quite a few world champions on that side of the family, including his paternal siblings Marwan Al Shaqab – also out of a Fame VF+ daughter, Pianissima, Pinga, and Emandoria among them. Gazal contributed his “look” to Gazsi, but his dam Memphis NA (by Fame VF+) must be given proper credit for her part, as she produced a number of very successful offspring herself. Memphis Na’s first foal was the multi-regional champion, 3-time U.S. National top Ten and Canadian National Champion Jr. Stallion, PA Magnanimous (by Magnum Psyche). When bred to Baske Afire, she produced the 8-time regional champion or reserve (in halter and performance), 5-time national top ten hunter gelding, PA Baskfire. Memphis NA was bred to the straight Egyptian World Champion Al Adeed Al Shaqab to produce the multi-champion filly, PA Aida, later exported to Israel. Bred to *Jiuliusz De Wiec, Memphis NA produced 4-time national champion in halter and performance, PA Julius Caesar++++//, and of course, there was PA Gazsi. Memphis NA produced very well with a variety of Arabian horse families, and her son, PA Gazsi seems to be doing the same.

PACIFIC ROSE MRF’s dam, the grey 2004 mare, Paloma SF+ (Georgio AF x WA Lida Rose by W A Salute) is no stranger to the show ring herself with regional titles in Western Pleasure, English Dressage, Western Dressage, and SHIH and Class A wins in halter, trail, and ranch riding. Most recently, Paloma added the titles of 2018 Region 3 Champion Sport Horse Under Saddle and 2018 Sport Horse National Top Ten Arabian Dressage Training Level, as well as the “+” of her Legion of Honor award, to her resume.

Paloma’s first foal, the bay gelding Phive Star Poker+ (by LBA Lode Star), is a 7-time national top ten, 3-time regional champion, with multiple wins in Scottsdale and Class A competition in multiple disciplines including western trail, English trail, horsemanship, showmanship, and western pleasure. In 2017, Phive Star Poke was named 2017 Reserve National Champion Horsemanship 13 & Under.

A look at Paloma’s pedigree sheds light on why she has been a successful performance horse and promising producer of successful performance horses. Her sire, Georgio AF (Versace x Fortunes Ciara by Wind Fortune), was shown only briefly as a youngster, earning a regional top 5 and two national top tens, before turning his attention to the breeding shed. And, as might be expected, the breeding shed is where Georgio really shined. By one of the most popular and successful sires of our time, Versace (by Fame VF+) and out of what can only be described as a stellar dam line, Georgio has sired multiple national winners in both halter and performance including the handsome 7-time regional champion, 5-time national top ten, and U.S. National Champion Hunter Pleasure, Halston SF+/; regional champion and Canadian Reserve Champion, Valentino SF; 2-time regional HA/AA champion and Youth National Champion HA/AA Hunter Pleasure JTR Elite, Manero SF+/; 5-time regional champion HA/AA, 8-time national top ten, and Canadian National Reserve Champion HA/AA Futurity Filly, Fashionista SF+; 4-time regional champion HP, U.S. National Reserve Champion HP Futurity, Alejandro SF+; and 2-time regional champion with Canadian National Top Tens in Western Pleasure Select and Ladies Side Saddle Western, as well as Canadian National Reserve Champion Ladies Side Saddle Western ATR, Tamar Lucchese, to name a few of Paloma SF’s winning paternal siblings.

Georgio AF’s sire, Versace (Fame VF+ x Precious As Gold by El Shaklan), was a successful show horse, but an even more successful sire – and much of that siring done after his untimely death at just shy of 13 years old. Even more impressive, Versace has sired both national and world champion halter winners as well as national champion performance winners – and his son KM Bugatti, earned both national halter and performance championships in the same year champions From Versace, Georgio inherited his lovely facial structure – the low set eyes set in prominent sockets, the dry, sculpted face – a look quite unique to Versace and his descendants – and a good dose of Versace’s athletic ability, which Georgio consistently passes on to his own get and grandget.

Georgio’s dam, Fortunes Ciara (Wind Fortune x Ciara Bey by Bey Shah+), only produced one foal, but her dam, Ciara Bey (out of the famed producer, TW Forteyna) was a U.S. Top Ten Mare who produced 11 foals, the first of which was Fortunes Ciara’s full sister, Fortune In Gold. This full sister produced five foals – All by Versace – thus all were full siblings in blood to Georgio AF. Among those full siblings in blood were 2-time regional champion and U.S. Top Ten stallion, Versaces Gold and multi-regional winner and 9-time national winner (including a U.S. National Championship and 3 U.S. National Reserve Championships), Suzanna MPA.

Ciara Bey produced national champions in both halter and performance, and if that weren’t enough to earn that mare line special recognition, consider that Ciara Bey was, herself, full sister to National Champion Mares, BeyTeyna and the black Shahteyna – all three by the charismatic champion and champion sire, Bey Shah+, and out of the great broodmare TW Forteyna (by *Fortel). Forteyna produced 10 foals by Bey Shah+, and all ten were multiple champions, including Georgio AF’s granddam, Ciara Bey.

Paloma SF’s dam, WA Lida Rose appears to have never been shown; however her sire, W A Salute (*SR Nadom x El Azraffa by Azraff) was a fairly successful show horse, winning 11 of the 16 classes he entered (in halter and performance) and earning a Canadian Top Ten title. W A Salute’s sire, *SR Nadom, bred by Tersk Stud in Russia, was a noted champion performance siring son of the legendary Russian stallion, *Muscat. Salute’s dam was the result of quite old, but extremely valued Raffles/Crabbet/Desert breeding – combining the esteemed programs of Roger Selby, J.M. Dickinson, W.R. Brown, Albert Harris, and Crabbet Stud to name a few. W A Salute sired 64 foals, with several halter and performance winners among them, including at least a couple of fairly successful race horses. WA Lida Rose herself produced two other show winners, but neither approached the success that her daughter Paloma SF has achieved.

With Gazal Al Shaqab close up and three lines to Bey Shah+ (twice through the performance siring icon, Fame VF+) – once through her paternal granddam, Memphis NA (Fame VF+ x Careliss Whisper by Laddins Fire) and twice through her maternal grandsire, Georgio AF – through his sire Versace (Fame VF+ x Precious As Gold) and through his maternal granddam, Ciara Bey (Bey Shah+ x TW Forteyna), PACIFIC ROSE MRF certainly has the ingredients to create a beautiful, athletic individual with the strength of pedigree to produce the same.

As of the fall of 2018, Pacific Rose MRF has earned three Regional Top 5’s in Amateur and Open Halter divisions and was named 2018 Top 10 in Sport Horse Nationals PB SHIH 2 Yr Old Fillies. Her future, both in the show ring and as a broodmare, seems very promising!
